Empowerment 21
Last week, we were thrilled to welcome Nippy Betz from Empowerment 21 to our campus to speak to our parents and students about finding scholarships and securing funding for college. He encouraged our students to keep their options open when it comes to selecting a college, and make their decisions based upon a number of criteria, including financial aid offered, as well as academic programming. His presentation was a great success – click here to visit the Empowerment 21 website to learn more!

Student Aid Saturdays!
The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, Firstmark Credit Union, SA2020, San Antonio Education Partnership, GenTX-San Antonio, and our colleges and universities have joined forces to organize Student Aid Saturday events throughout the city to boost the number of students and parents completing federal and state student financial aid applications this academic year by 5%.
Student Aid Saturdays encourages students and parents to complete the financial aid applications otherwise known as FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and TASFA (Texas Application for State Financial Aid). Research shows that 90% of students who complete the FAFSA will enroll in post-secondary education.
Multiple sites will be available between January 26 and April 27, 2013 where students and parents can receive one-on-one assistance to complete the FAFSA or TASFA.
